KAREENA KAPOOR GETS NERVOUS WORKING WITH SALMAN KHAN

Kareena Kapoor, who's been on a high since the release of "Jab We Met", finally started shooting a new film "Main Aur Mrs. Khanna" with Salman Khan. She says the idea of working with her "sister's co-star" makes her nervous.

"Although we've done Priyadarshan's 'Kyon Ki...' before, I always get nervous working with Salman. He was my sister's hero long before we were paired together. And now to be doing a film with him," Kareena told IANS.
Kareena started shooting Tuesday at Film City at the outskirts of Mumbai.

Kareena and Salman were expected to serenade to immortality in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Bajirao Mastani", but the film never happened.
She was also signed for Salman's home production "My Punjabi Nikaah". That never happened either.

Kareena chuckles in disbelief.
"'Main Aur Mrs. Khanna' is an intensely romantic film. I don't think Salman has done a pure love story like this before. Neither have I. Sohail is also in the film."

Interestingly, this is the first time in her distinguished career that Kareena will be working with a debutant director Prem Soni.
"He's very talented. It wouldn't matter even if he wasn't - I'm doing it for Salman," said Kareena emotionally.

T - SERIES ACCUSES RAM GOPAL VERMA OF EXTORTION

ollywood director Ram Gopal Varma has landed himself once again in a controversy as leading music company T-Series has filed a case of extortion, cheating and fraud against him.

The case was registered at the Sector 20 police station here late Tuesday.
Verma was booked under the charges of extortion, fraud, conspiracy, extortion, cheating and criminal breach of trust.

"Ram Gopal Verma had entered into a contract assigning Super Cassettes Industries Limited (T-Series) music rights for 14 of his forthcoming films in June 2006," the company said here in a statement.
"The contract was duly performed and acted upon by both the parties and since then four out of the said 14 films, namely 'Darwaja Band Rakho', 'Nishabd', 'Ram Gopal Verma Ki Aag' and 'Shiva', have been released by T-Series. The company had also made payments for the same and had also made advance payments for forthcoming films by Verma," the statement added.

T-Series spokesman Vinod Bhansuhali said Verma had tried to terminate the contract in November 2007 on grounds that were not acceptable to his firm.

The T-Series reaction came two days after Verma filed a similar case of cheating and forgery, claiming that the music firm had duped him of over Rs.4.6 million.
Verma filed the case against T-Series head Bhushan Kumar with the Versova police station in Mumbai. The case was later handed over to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) for further investigations.

PREITY ZINTA TO BUILD HOUSE IN SHIMLA

Even while her home in Mumbai is being re-constructed, Preity Zinta had a dream and she's about to realize it. "I always wanted a family home in my home town Shimla. I'm now going to build a house there. The older one is in a locality that's so crowded I don't recognize it any more. Earlier it was just our house and lots of trees."
Preity has an ancestral land which she has been planning to use to build a dream house. "Now's the time to do it. Build a farmhouse where my kids and my brother's kids will grow up. It's a little away from Shimla near the golf course. A gloriously green patch. I want to make it completely eco-friendly. It's so difficult to acquire anything eco-friendly here in Mumbai. I'm trying to buy an eco-friendly car. But it's so difficult. But I am determined to buy an eco-friendly car. Look at the fumes in Mumbai. I'm more determined than ever to start building my home in Mumbai at the earliest." Preity is looking at entirely refurbishing her life. "Last year I badly hurt myself on my back and pelvis. I've been working on myself. We actors are constantly hurting ourselves and neglecting our health. Look at how much Shah Rukh has gone through. And the other day when I dropped in to meet him on the set of Om Shanti Om I saw him with a 6-pack. I was like…wow! I've seen him so unwell when we were shooting Kal Ho Na Ho. He's very inspiring, and not just on screen."

GIFTS FOR MOMMY PAPA AND BABIES

Farah Khan, Shirish Kunder and their three little bundles of joy have been showered with lots of love from friends in the Bollywood industry since they have been home. She and the babies have had many visitors and they have come bearing wonderful gifts.
Farah said, “The babies and I have been flooded with gifts from rocking chairs, clothes and cribs to diaper disposals.”
She revealed a few of the gifts saying, “While Shah Rukh has given them a three-in-one pram, Sajid (Nadiadwala) and Wardha have given them a beautiful three-baby crib in which the triplets are sleeping in at the moment. Karan gave me a pair of beautiful diamond and coral earrings. He didn’t come sooner because he had a severe throat infection.”

Farah did say she only asked for one thing, “I told Preity I want baby towels from Bombay Dyeing,” she said jokingly.

The babies also received visits and gifts from other stars including: Zayed’s wife Malaika and his mom who brought gold coins, Rani Mukerji and her mom’s gift was silverware, Arjun Rampal and wife Mehr gifted them with some things from Baby Gap, Priyanka and her Mom went all out bringing a set of silver baby photo frames, bowls and eating sets and Anil Kapoor gave each of the triplets a locket with the inscriptions Om and Allah.
Though Farah will not talk about the gifts she did say, “I need another room to keep all the stuff that I got.”

Besides all the gifts, Papa Shirish felt he needed a few more things and got not one but three hi-definition cameras. “He wants to capture their every moment and gesture,” said Farah. So sweet!

SARKAR RAJ

Ram Gopal Varma had created a coup of sorts by casting the father-son jodi (Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek) in Sarkar, a film that left people awestruck, all thanks to the power-full performances by the Bachchans. This time round, Ramu has gone one-step ahead to add one more member (Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan) from the Bachchan clan and have named it Sarkar Raj, which happens to be a sequel to Sarkar.

JANNAT'S MUSIC TO BE A CLASSIC

If you thought that the music of Gangster and Awarapan were great, look out for Jannat. It is out of this world and simply phenomenal,” declares Emraan Hashmi who would be seeing a film of his arriving at theaters after almost a year. Though 2006 saw Good Boy Bad Boy, The Train and Awarapan releasing one after another, it has been a sort of wait for Emraan Hashmi in 2008, as Jannat would be arriving only in the month of May.
